Nissan participating in CPES Industrial Residence Program

One of the benefits for CPES members is the opportunity to send company engineers to work alongside our researchers in the CPES labs. CPES Principal Plus Member, Nissan Motor, is taking advantage of the CPES Industrial Residence Program.

CPES module of multiple Si and SiC dies

To foster close collaboration with CPES, Nissan engineer, Tatsuhiro Suzuki, is spending 2 years on site in our labs. His focus is on the Nissan fellowship project, “Power Electronic Modules and Converters for Electric Vehicles.” Conducted under the leadership of CPES faculty, Prof. Khai Ngo, the preliminary objective of this work is to identify the power-bandwidth trade-off for power modules and converters carrying multiple Si/SiC chips for electric vehicles.

We are pleased Mr. Suzuki is with us, not only to conduct research, but to enjoy our little town of Blacksburg, nestled in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of southwestern Virginia.
