CPES Power Electronics Short Course

One of the missions of CPES is to provide the opportunity for practicing engineers to broaden their knowledge base and stay updated on new technologies by offering professional short courses that will provide a clear understanding of the fundamental principles and a working knowledge of current technology and applications.
 

Modeling & Control Design of DC/DC Converters

Course Description

Lectures:  The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center, Blacksburg, VA
Lab:  253 Whittemore Hall, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA
Instructors:  Professors Fred C. Lee and Dushan Boroyevich
Course Fee: 

$1,600 -- Principal-Plus, Principal, Associate Members
$2,500 -- Affiliate Members
$3,500 -- non-members

NOTE:   To ensure proper access to workstations in the lab sessions, this course will be limited to 32 participants.

Additional Information

  • Short course participants will receive a set of lecture notes and lab manual on Day One. (Lab manual applies to Control Design only).
  • Lectures will begin each day at 8 a.m.
  • Continental breakfast will be served by 7:30 a.m. near the lecture room (Room assignment TBA).
  • Participants will be invited to join instructors for dinner on Day One of each course.
  • On the last day, your instructor will wrap up by mid-afternoon so participants may depart for the airport. Please allow at least 2 hours before flight time - one hour for travel to airport, and one hour prior for check-in.
