RPI offers courses, workshops and a new power device certificate program for industrial engineers
Besides offering new courses to CPES students, such as
the development of a senior-level Introduction to Power ICs course to
entice undergraduates into our power device program, Prof. T. Paul Chow
has offered two industrial power device seminars to practicing engineers:
one to 25 engineers in Milwaukee, and another to 100 Toyota engineers
in Japan. Prof. Chow has also offered several regular and new power
device courses, which are available remotely to several industrial sites,
via either satellite or videotapes. In particular, Fairchild Semiconductors
has recently chosen RPI as the university to provide a certificate in
power device technology, which is required for their power device engineers.
In Spring 2003, 21 professional engineers are enrolled in this program. |
