CPES 2009 Power Electronics Annual Conference
April 5-7, 2009
The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center
Blacksburg, VA
From the Center Director
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2009 CPES Annual Power Electronics Conference at Virginia Tech, sponsored by the CPES industry partnership program. With this being the 26th annual conference organized by CPES/VPEC at Virginia Tech, I wish to express my personal gratitude to all industry partners, research sponsors, alumni and friends for their continued support, as well as to our students, faculty and staff, whose work and dedication have provided significant contributions to the Center's continuing growth and success.
Having celebrated the Center's graduation from the 10-year National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center (NSF ERC) program, we will resume the conference format this year, offering a Tutorial on Sunday afternoon, Invited Talks on Monday morning, Technical Sessions from Monday afternoon to Tuesday morning, and the interactive Dialogue/Poster Session in the CPES labs on Tuesday afternoon. To provide additional opportunities for interactions among CPES students, faculty and conference participants on a personal level, we invite everyone to join the Industry-Student Forum on Sunday afternoon and the Conference Reception and Dinner on Monday evening.
The 2009 Proceedings will include 17 technical session papers and 58 dialogue session papers, providing a comprehensive overview of the Center's research over the past year. We are excited about this annual event. Not only does it allow us to share our newest research results, it is an ideal forum for us to personalize relationships with industry partners, explore new alliances with prospective industry supporters, as well as renew friendships at a personal level.
We look forward to meeting and interacting with all of you - our friends and colleagues in the power electronics community!
Fred C. Lee
Director, Center for Power Electronics Systems
